BE A PART OF THE ARTISTIC PROCESS
I work with you one-on-one to discuss your vision and inspiration for the piece, including what feelings or ideas you’d like to express. Then I make and refine a series of sketches, working with your feedback, until the design is finalized. Production starts with the sourcing and selection of the finest marble, stone and smalti (Italian mosaic glass) from around the world. I cut each piece by hand using the same tools as the ancient artisans. Then I hand-place the mosaic to give an organic flow and inspired elegance to the piece. The end result is a work of art that is also a legacy of your unique personality.
TEXTURE
Mosaics can be smooth or textured depending on the project. The practicality of a smooth finish is often preferred for floors, counters and tabletops. A textured finish is often selected for walls because the tesserae reflect and refract light at different angles, for a richer experience.
MATERIALS
Stone and smalti are the typical materials in ancient mosaics. Stained glass and ceramic are also available on request.
